KOLKATA CHAPTER » DDPP Launch


The DDPP was launched on 14 th January, 2010 in Kolkata. Smt. Amala Shankar the renowned danseuse & intellectual was the recipient of the first DDPP Card. She is our brand ambassador and the card was presented to her by noted sports personality and Arjuna awardee Mr. Chuni Goswami and director Mrs. Preeti Roy. Also present on the occasion was GM, Mr. Avijit Ghosh & Core Committee member Mr. Dipak Ranjan Nag.

Our brand ambassador Smt. Amala Shankar spoke to the gathering in her own inimitable style about living life to the full. She stressed upon the need to make life of the senior citizens more productive and fulfilling. However, she applauded the good work being done by the foundation and was hopeful that Dignity will continue to make the lives of senior citizens all across the state worth living.

The press conference was addressed by director Mrs. Preeti Roy & GM Mr. Avijit Ghosh. All the noted regional news channels like Kolkata TV, Doordarshan, Akash Bangla, R Plus, NE Bangla were present on the occasion. In addition to these reporters from various print media like The Times of India, The Hindustan Times, The Telegraph, Ananda Bazar Patrika, The Statesman etc. The media were briefed about all the activities that Dignity Foundation had intended to take up for the life enrichment services of the senior citizens. The programme was shown on different news channels.

Mr. Satya Bikash Dutta the senior most dignitarian present on the occasion was tied a Suraksha bandhan by Sristi. Mr. Dutta came to our programme even at the age of 87 to support the mission of life enrichment which is an inspiration for all the senior citizens. Director Mrs. Preeti Roy and GM Mr. Avijit Ghosh were also present on the occasion.

Mr. Satya Bikash Dutta being the senior most Dignitarian was handed over complimentary DDPP membership by director Mrs. Preeti Roy. Also seen on the occasion was our GM Mr. Avijit Ghosh and Core Committee member Mr Dipak Ranjan Nag.

Mr. Barun Chanda the renowned film actor is seen here unveiling the hindi version of Dignity Dialogue and offering the first copy to our beloved dignitarian Mrs. Rita Dalmia. Gracing the occasion was Mrs. Preeti Roy and Mr. Avijit Ghosh. Mr. Barun Chanda has acted in films by renowned directors like the maestro Mr Satyajit Ray.

Mrs. Preeti Roy presenting a memento to Dr. (Mrs.)Bharati Ray Ex Pro-VC of Calcutta University and Ex Rajya Sabha MP in the presence of Mr Avijit Ghosh. Dr. Ray was very impressed with the activities of Dignity Foundation and offered all her best wishes and blessings for the well being of the foundation.

Mrs. Swagatalakshmi Dasgupta the renowned singer of Bengal is seen here presenting a bouquet of songs thus entertaining the audience at large. She also espoused our cause of life enrichment and was well received and appreciated by the whole audience.

Ms. Sagarika Debnath the eminent kathak dancer performed at the end of the programme to entertain dignitarians. She was a major attraction of our programme because of her dance recital. She is a national scholar and has performed in all major cities.

Mr. Dipak Ranjan Nag, Core Committee member offered the Vote of Thanks on behalf of Dignity Foundation Kolkata Chapter to all those present on the occasion.
